Magic Kingdom

I’ve always had a fun time at Disneyland but have always hated the crowds. We decided to go to Disneyworld during one of the least busy times of the year, so I was excited to check out the Magic Kingdom, which is almost exactly like Disneyland (without a Matterhorn).

When we got there, we took the Disneyworld monorail to the entrance and walked straight in. We headed straight over to Space Mountain, because it’s always really crowded at Disneyland. We got a fast pass, and headed over to the Indy Cars (which are basically really crappy Go-Karts).

Once we were done we walked straight onto Space Mountain, which was kind of a disappointment. I love how dark the ride is at Disneyland…all you can see are fake stars. But at the Magic Kingdom, it’s kind of like a half-lit room where you can see all these crummy looking rafters everywhere. The ride was also very jerky, and just wasn’t as cool…it was still fun though.

We then did some other fun stuff in Tomorrowland, we really enjoyed the Toy Story ride, where you get these laser guns and shoot at targets while your cart is moving. We then headed over Frontierland to check out Splash Mountain. Splash Mountain never has less than a 45 minute line at Disneyland, and we literally walked straight on in Florida. We checked out the Thunder Mountain Railroad, and dried off on the coaster. We then checked out Adventureland and did a Jungle Cruise, went to the Tiki Room, and rode Pirates. After finishing off Adventureland, we headed on over to Fantasyland.

Fantasyland was a mess. There were people everywhere. I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many strange people in my life (except for at the Post Office or DMV). We rode “It’s a Small World”, toured the Haunted Mansion then decided to grab a bite to eat. We had some nasty Barbecue Turkey sandwiches, and returned to Fantasyland. We went on a few slow moving rides like “Peter Pan’s Adventure” and “Adventures With Winnie the Pooh”. We went on a few other rides in Fantasyland, and decided to do repeats of our favorites.

We were absolutely delighted that there was no line for Splash Mountain, so we went on it three more times, and did the Toy Story ride one last time before heading back to our hotel room. We walked to Chevy’s (a Mexican restaurant) and ate until we just about popped, and then decided to restock on snacks. As we checked out, we looked at the cashier and the woman had a full goatee, it was like she walked straight out of the circus. I’ve never seen anything like it. We had one day left at Disneyworld and decided to go on all of our favorite rides, we did the following:

Test Track (2 times)
Expedition Everest (2 Times)
Safari Tour (1 time)
Finding Nemo Aquarium (1 time)
Rock n’ Roller Coaster (1 time)
Hollywood Tower of Terror (3 times)
Toy Story Ride (1 time)
And probably a few others we can’t remember

We had a fantastic time at Disneyworld. We were able to do and see so much at all the parks. The average wait for each of our rides was 5-10 minutes, and the longest we ever waited was 35 minutes, we really couldn’t have asked for a better trip.
