Utah can be interesting......

Here are some funny stories about our experience in Utah.

At a ward dinner we sat by a lady with two kids. We were eating and getting to know her. She was a little strange, but was really nice and had nice kids. Mid conversation, to our amazement, she takes out a piece of meat she was chewing and feeds it to her kids. We just sat there shocked and appalled. Did she really do that? It was probably the grossest thing we've ever seen. Still to this day if I bring up this story to Matt he gets queasy.

We live in an interesting part of Provo. Needless to say, I don't feel comfortable talking a stroll by myself in our neighborhood. Most likely its because we live by the only liquor store in Provo and near homeless park. Once Matt and I decided for FHE to walk down center street to get some ice cream. We walked by this tattoo shop and Matt sarcastically stated, "oh tattoos and piercings!" No sooner had he said it and we round the corner when we run into the owner of the store. He is as you guessed it covered in tattoos and piercings and he says hi to us in a deep scary voice. We make it two more feet before we burst out laughing because we know he had overheard us.

Over the last couple of months Matt and I have been house hunting. We've toured a ton of houses. My mom and my dad have also helped in the hunt. What shocks my parents is that in Utah there aren't really nice neighborhoods all the time. There can be a mansion next to a run down shack. But while my mom was here we found a cute neighborhood called Cedar Hills. We were really excited to tour the houses because from the outside they looked like great houses. So Matt and I drive merrily to cedar hills to meet with the real estate agent. We walk in to the house we were interested in and we just look at each other. It smelled like pee, there were holes in the wall, and the weirdest people lived there. We thought the other houses in the neighborhood would be better, but they all smelled bad and this was supposed to be a nice part of Utah! That is when we decided if we buy a house in Utah it NEEDS to be new and never lived in.
