After finishing the hanging bridges tour we went back to our hotel and checked out. We couldn't resist snapping a picture of me helping the Tiki out.
We got lucky and were able to snap a clear picture of the volcano.
After checking out of our first hotel we went on an adventure to find the tree houses hotel. Everyone is incredibly nice in Costa Rica, so when I asked for directions a guy that was visiting from San Jose (Costa Rica, not California) said that he knew exactly where it was and that we could follow him. We thought "Awesome, what a great guy". Well it turned out, he had no idea where it was but couldn't resist helping us out. About every five minutes on our way to the hotel he'd ask people for directions until we finally got to the turn off near the hotel. Although we probably could've gotten there faster ourselves (he took a weird round-about way), it was still nice that someone was nice enough to help out two total strangers.
Right after we checked into the Tree Houses Hotel we got excited about the walk that you can do on the hotel grounds. It wasn't as amazing as the hanging bridges tour, but it was pretty close. There were some amazing views, and quite often tourists see monkeys, tucans, sloths, poison-dart frogs and tons of other animals. At first we kinda thought they were full of crap, but we changed our mind when we heard all of the animals at night. It was almost eerie.

There was a huge bamboo grove on the trail. It was awesome looking.
There were so many different types of trees. I call this a Cheech Tree.

We were a bit hungry so we decided to get some fruit from some people on the side of the road. They sold us some Pineapple that was AMAZING. We got an entire fresh pineapple, peeled and sliced for about a buck. It was soooo good. They were delighted that I spoke Spanish, and the husband decided that I was his new best friend. They were dirt poor, but they were very hospitable to us. They told us that next time we go back to Costa Rica we could stay at their house, and he would take off work to show us all of the sights. He said that since we didn't have any family in Costa Rica, we could call him family. Rachel and I had a nice deep conversation after that, and realized that some of the poorest people are the most willing to give to others. We learned a lot of good lessons from the Costa Rican people.

Hooray for bloggers! It looks great. Blogger takes some getting used to but it's pretty easy to use once you get the hang of it. Your trip looks like so much fun! I like reading your travelogue and look forward to seeing more pictures.
Cool pics did you go on the zip lines??
